About the Workshop

Vijaya College BCA Department organized a one-day workshop on ‘Machine learning with Python’ on 6th August 2023 for UG students. Objective of the workshop: Machine learning is the art of training models by using existing data along with a statistical method to create a parametric representation that fits the data. In other words, a machine learning algorithm uses statistical processes to learn from examples. The purpose of this course is to serve as an introduction to machine learning with Python. Explore several clustering, classification, and regression algorithms and see how they can help to perform a variety of machine learning tasks and to generate predictions and perform segmentation on real-world data sets obtained from physics problems. Resource person: Srividya Suresh, Data Analyst, TCS an aluminous of our college. Number of students attended: 30 (selected from all Physical Science combinations) Outcome of the workshop: First day all the rudiments of the machine learning was taught. A set of problems were given to students and were taught to generate predictions and perform segmentation. Students performed well and gave the feedback that the program was well structured
